Apologies For a Lack of Writing

Hello everyone,

I want to make a quick article to express my apologies for a lack of articles. I’m coming to realize that writing is a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.

It’s not like I haven’t been trying. In the past couple of weeks I have written two outlines for articles I planned to publish here, one about reactionary socialists and their support for Vladimir Putin and another one responding to an article a DSA Caucus put out about ultraleftism. None of these made it out of the outline stage of the writing process. Both for the reason that I felt these articles could be short enough to just do a Twitter thread.

I made this blog specifically for the purpose of forcing myself to get used to writing longer articles and avoid shortening my thoughts for Twitter.

But there is also the problem of a lack of ideas. Most of the time my brain is empty, simply absorbing short term information around me and forgetting it minutes later. On the rare occasion that I do have a thought, I usually just whip out my phone and post it on Twitter.

Perhaps the issue is that I’m letting good be the enemy of ok. I think I had this idea that this blog would become a haven of interesting theory and cultural commentary that would be both insightful and interesting to read. But we don’t live in that world and I shouldn’t let that get in the way of continuing this blog.

To sign off, I want to again express my apologies and I will try to do better.
